After Leonard Vole is arrested for the sensational murder of a rich, middle aged widow, the famous Sir Wilfrid Robarts insists to appear on his behalf. The lure of these courts is too much for him personally, especially when the situation is indeed tricky -- although sir Wilfrid, dealing with a coronary arrest, is supposed to be on a diet of dull lawsuits.
