Rain rains are currently pelting Tokyo, obstructing everyone's normal routine. In the midst of this seemingly endless downpour, Hodaka Morishima, a runaway high school student, arrives, struggling to make ends meet and eventually landing a work at a small-time publisher. Hina Amano, who is orphaned, is also looking for work to support herself and her younger brother. When Hodaka attempts to save Hina from unscrupulous guys, the two's lives become intertwined and they decide to flee together. Following that, Hodaka realizes that Hina possesses a weird but incredible skill: the ability to summon the sun anytime she prays for it.
