Following the lives of the characters who were affected by Quadir's death, TRUE TO THE GAME II follows up a year after the events of the first True to the Game. Gena has rebuilt herself as a journalist in New York City, separating herself from the city's violent scene but still grieving over Quadir's death. Gena lives and works in the city. Gena is at a crossroads in her professional life when she discovers a chance to travel to Los Angeles and decides to take advantage of the opportunity to discover herself. Despite the fact that Gena is far away from home, her life in Philadelphia appears to be constantly in the background. When Jerrell's package is stolen by someone with ties to Quadir, he goes on a scavenger hunt to find out who has taken it from him. Jerrell is determined to collect his debts by any means necessary, and he will begin by pursuing Gena.
