In the year following graduation from college, Izzy must manage the apparently constant failures of life, the reality of a poor dating pool, and a crippling dread of top-sheets, all while watching reruns of The X-Files. Izzy has been hilariously unsuccessful in love over the course of the year, including five half-hearted relationships with astonishingly self-centered men. She has resigned herself to the support of her mother and sister, both of whom are dealing with their own relationship issues at the same time as Izzy. Izzy gradually finds the confidence to be honest and vulnerable as she sees herself reflected in others.
