The Octonauts is actually a British children's television series, produced by Silvergate Media for its BBC channel Cbeebies. Brown Bag Films animate in Ireland the series however uses voice actors. The TV series is based on American-Canadian children's novels written by Vicki Wong and Michael C. Murphy of all Meomi Design Inc.. Even the Octonauts follows an underwater exploring team composed of stylized anthropomorphic animals, a team of eight adventurers that reside in an under sea base in where they go with the help of a fleet of vehicles that are aquatic. The subject material is reminiscent of Thunderbirds blended and StarTrek with Jacques Cousteau. The exotic critters and areas the team encounter are real critters in their natural habitats although it's science fiction as regards its own technology.
