A savings-and-loan financial institution is burglarized; later on, an authorities wiretap recognizes teller Leon Poole as inside man. In catching him, investigator Sam Wagner accidentally eliminates Poole's young partner, and at his test Poole vouches vengeance versus Wagner. Poole begins his plans to repay when he leaves his captors.
