Space Battleship Yamato is a science fiction anime show featuring a classic space craft. It's also known to English-speaking audiences. An edited and English-dubbed form of the show has been broadcast as Star Blazers on Australian television and North American. The very first two seasons of the model were broadcast in Greece in 1981-82 as ????????????? ????. An Italian-language version was broadcast from Italy, and also a Portuguese-language version was shown under Astronave Intrepido in Spain and Latin America or the name in Brazil. It's a show from the history of anime, signifying a turn towards works that are acute and influencing works like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Mobile Suit Gundam. Hideaki Anno credited it with sparking his interest and has ranked Yamato his favorite anime. Yamato was the first anime show or movie to secure the Seiun Award, a feat never repeated before the 1985 Nausicaä of the Valley of the Planet.
