A Vietnam veteran, Charles Rane, returns home after years in a POW camp and can be treated as being a hero. They mangle his hands and leave him when thugs invade his house to throw the coins he received for his ceremony and his family for dead. Rane becomes obsessed with getting revenge and survives. Aided by his loyal friend Johnny Vohden, Rane sets out on his mission of vengeance.
