Danish farmer Morten's three sons have enacted religious beliefs. Eldest son Mikkel has lost his faith , while middle child Johannes has become delusional and proclaims he is Jesus Christ himself, although youngest son Anders shares his father's religion. Every one's beliefs are put to the test, After Inger, Mikkel's wife switches in to a tough child birth.
