Restauranteur and TV chef Billie Blessings (Robinson Peete) becomes involved in the investigation of what quickly appears to be the work of a cunning and sinister serial killer after the murder of a well-loved supermarket owner in the early morning hours before opening. The murder takes place before the store is scheduled to open for business. Despite the fact that she is putting herself in a very precarious situation, Billie is unable to avoid getting involved in the investigation, even though her friendship with the police investigator Ian Jackson (Fox) is beginning to take a more amorous turn.
